Veterinary is a specialist branch of medicine that deals with treating and helping animals. Most of us know veterinarians as doctors or surgeons that treat pet animals like cats, dogs, cattle, and equine. But there’s more to veterinary science than just meets the eye. Veterinarians treat other animals as well and their role is pretty diverse, spanning several industries.

Veterinary Sciences is for those that love and are passionate about animals. Like any medical other medical practice, veterinary to is very rewarding in terms of how you relieve the pain of animals and help them see another day.

BVSc.

Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (BVSc. & AH) is the basic five-year graduate programme in veterinary sciences. Students that have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biochemistry (PCB/Bt) and English at the pre-university/+2/12th standard or equivalent and who have scored 50% marks in aggregate and 40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B are eligible.

All admissions to BVSc programme in Bangalore are based on the marks scored in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The criteria for merit/rank is based on 50% of marks secured in PCB in the Common Entrance Test and 50% marks scored in the practical tes

B.Tech/D.Tech (Dairy Technology)

This four-year undergraduate programme deals with milk processing and includes activities like production, packaging, storage, handling, and distribution. Anyone who has passed 12th standard or equivalent exam with physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology is eligible for the qualifying Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority. The criteria for merit or rank is based on taking marks scored in the qualifying exam and CET in equal proportion.

B.F.Sc. (Fisheries)

Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc.) is a four-year bachelor's degree that deals with fisheries. It’s a multidisciplinary science that includes nutrition, farming, breeding, genetics, and diagnosis of diseases in fish and other aquatic animals. This programme also includes subjects on boats, shipping, navigation, and fisheries economics. P.G COURSES

Master of Veterinary Science (MVSc) is a two-year postgraduate programme in veterinary sciences with major specialisation, just like any other higher education programme. The degree is in demand globally due to rising demand for animal health experts. All admissions are based on written test conducted by the KEA/university.

Master of Veterinary Science in Veterinary Anatomy and Histology is a two-year postgraduate degree aimed at providing specialist training for research in animal anatomy and newer methods of dissection. You’ll be trained in the anatomy of all animals.

Master of Veterinary Sciences in Veterinary Microbiology is a two-year masters programme designed for understanding the role that microorganisms play in animal health. You’ll also study about animal diseases, immunology, molecular biology, microbiology and epidemiology in wild, pet, zoo, and farm animals.

Master of Veterinary Sciences in Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics is two-year postgraduate programme that is the veterinary equivalent of obstetrics and gynaecology of modern human medicine. It is tailored and focused on animal reproduction and reproductive body parts.

Master of Veterinary Science in Veterinary Surgery and Radiology is a two-year postgraduate programme aimed at training veterinarians to become skilled in veterinary surgery and imaging. DAIRY SCIENCE M.TECH D.Sc

The Master of Technology in Dairy Chemistry is a two-year specialised master’s programme where you’ll learn about biochemistry and physicochemical properties of milk. You’ll also learn about physiochemical changes that happen during while manufacturing milk products.

Master of Technology in Dairy Technology deals with processing milk into various products and byproducts. The programme also includes subjects in processing, storing, distributing, packaging and transporting milk products and making milk consumption safe for humans.

Master of Technology in Dairy Microbiology is mainly related to breaking down milk to its culture and developing products based on those cultures. The study is quite specialised and includes studying antibiotics and probiotics.
