What is DNB PD CET?

Diplomate of National Board Post Diploma Centralized Entrance Test or DNB PD CET is a National Level Examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations. It is a ranking examination conducted to seek admissions into Post Diploma DNB courses.

Students who will be clearing the DNB Exam have to complete 2 years of practical training under any NBE recognized universities or colleges. Upon completing the required training, the student will be awarded the DNB degree after clearing its final examination.

Eligibility & Registration

Candidates have to meet the following DNB PD CET eligibility criteria to answer the exam:

  • Students who want to answer the DNB Exam must have completed their Post Graduate Diploma on or after 31st December, 2018. Students must have done their Post Graduate Diploma from any Indian Medical Colleges or Universities recognized by the Indian Medical Commission.
  • Legible proof of the Post Graduate Diploma Degree has to be provided during the time of admissions. Failing to do so can lead to the cancellation of the student's admission.
  • Students must have completed their 2 years Post-Graduation Diploma Training in any recognized hospitals in the country.
  • Registration with the National Medical Commission or the State Medical Council is mandatory for answering this examination.
  • Students who have already enrolled themselves in MD, MS, or DNB are not eligible to appear for the Examination. Students who had previously joined the DNB course are also not allowed to appear for the examination irrespective of whether they were disqualified or discontinued their courses.

In addition to the eligibility criteria, students have to meet the specific criteria for each DNB PD CET specialization. To pursue a certain specialization, students should complete their Post Graduate Diploma in the field that matches the qualification they want to pursue.

DNB PD CET Registration:

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to register for the exam:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NBE.

Step 2: Click on the section that says, "DNB PD CET."

Step 3: Click on "New Registration."

Step 4: Enter the following details for registration:

  • Student's Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Mobile number
  • Email ID
  • Captcha

Step 5: Check the details entered to avoid any further discrepancies.

Step 6: Click on "Submit."

After the above process, the User ID and Password will be sent to the student's registered Email ID and Mobile Number.

How to fill up the DNB PD CET Application Form?

Step 1: Visit the official website of NBE.

Step 2: Click on the section that says, "DNB PD CET."

Step 3: Login using the DNB PD CET User ID and Password.

Step 4: Students should enter the personal details in the DNB PD CET Application Form:

  • Personal Details Required:

- Details of the student will be pre-filled and will be the same as the information provided during the registration process. Hence, that should be filled-up appropriately.

- Father's Name

- Mother's name

- Category of the Students

- Person with Disability (PwD) Status (Yes/No)

- Details for Identification (Details of Government ID Card: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport or Voter ID Card)

- Communication Address of the Student

Step 5: After the personal details, students should fill up their Qualification Details in the DNB PD CET Application form:

  • Qualification Details:

- Details of MBBS and Post Graduate Diploma Qualification: Country or State of Completion, Name of University or College, and Month and Year of Passing.

- Internship Details of the Students

- National Medical Commission or the State Medical Council Registration Details.

Step 6: Students have to select their preferred Test Centres for the DNB PD CET Examination.

Step 7: Students need to select their preferred DNB course for which they want to answer the DNB PD CET Examination. They can refer to the list given in the beginning.

Step 8: Students have to upload the scanned copies of their Recent Passport-size Photograph, Signature, and Thumb Impression.

Step 9: Students have to submit the application fee for DNB PD CET. The fee for DNB PD CET is Rs. 4,500, irrespective of the students' categories and gender. Fees can be paid through Debit Card or Credit Card or Net Banking.

Step 10: Go through the information properly to avoid any discrepancies.

Step 11: Click on the Submit Button and check on the declaration for the final submission of the Application Form.

Step 12: Students should take a printout of the application form on an A4-size paper and store it for future reference during the application process.

DNB PD CET Correction Window:

NBE allows candidates to correct the discrepancies they might have done while filling up the DNB PD CET's Application Form. Below are the protocols that should be followed by NBE while opening the correction window:

  • NBE shall inform the students of the discrepancies or deficiencies in their application within 15 days of completing the registration and form filling process.
  • NBE shall communicate the information through the student's registered Email ID or Mobile Number.
  • The correction window is kept open for a limited period only.
  • NBE doesn't charge any additional fees for the correction window.

Step 4: Login using your Email ID and Password.

Step 5: The admit card shall be displayed on the candidate's screen.

Step 7: Report to the concerned authorities if any discrepancies are found. Otherwise, download the Admit Card on an A4-size paper.

Important Pointers regarding the DNB PD CET Admit Card:
  • Student's request for the allotted exam centre's change shall not be entertained after the DNB PD CET Admit Card has been released.
  • They should carry their respective Government-approved ID card along with their Admit Card to the exam centre.
  • The DNB PD CET Admit Card should be downloaded from the official website of NBE only.
  • Students have to affix their Recent Passport-size Photographs in the space provided. Below is the specification of the photograph:
  • The dimension of the Photograph: 35 mm x 45 mm
  • 75% of the Photograph must cover the Face and Head of the Student.
  • The photograph should have a white background.
  • The resolution of the photograph must be higher than 600 DPI.

DNB PD CET Results:

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to download the DNB PD CET results:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NBE.

Step 2: Click on the section that says, "DNB PD CET."

Step 3: Click on the line that reads, "DNB PD CET Results."

Step 4: Select your course from the drop-down menu.

Step 5: The result-list for that particular course is displayed on the window.

Step 6: Search for your DNB PD CET Roll Number in the list and download the result.

Below are the protocols that the NBE shall follow in case of a tie-breaker:
  • Students with fewer incorrect answers shall be placed higher on the DNB PD CET Rank List.
  • If the number of wrong answers is the same, then the student with the highest number of correct answers will be placed higher on the DNB PD CET Rank List.
  • If the numbers are the same in both the above cases, then the older student shall be placed higher in the Rank List.
DNB PD CET Counselling:

DNB PD CET Counselling process will be conducted by the National Board of Education (NBE). The counselling process of DNB PDCET will be completed in 4 rounds, of which 3 will be online, and the last one will be at NBE Headquarters, New Delhi.

Students have to clear their exam to appear for the DNB PD CET counselling session. Below are the important dates for the DNB PD CET Counselling process:

DNB PD CET Counselling Registration Process:

Students who have cleared the DNB PD CET exam will have to register for the counselling process. Below is the process:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NBE.

Step 2: Click on the section that says, "DNB PD CET."

Step 3: Click on the line that reads, "Create or Reset Password."

Step 4: In the section, enter your Registered Mobile Number and the DNB PD CET Roll Number or Registered Email ID.

Step 5: Click on "Send OTP."

Step 6: Enter the OTP sent on your Mobile Number and set a new password for this account.

Step 7: Students should log in using the new credentials.

Step 8: Students should pay the DNB PD CET Counselling Fee. The fee for the process is Rs. 2,500 for all categories of students.

Step 9: After paying the fees, they have to click on "Fill DNB PD CET Counselling Form."

Step 10: Enter the following details in the Counselling Form:

  • DNB PD CET Roll Number
  • Student's Name
  • Gender
  • Date of Birth

After submitting the form, students will have to participate in the 4 rounds of the counselling process.

DNB Exam Counselling Process:

Below are the steps for the DNB PD CET Counselling process:

Step 1: Students have to register for the Counselling Process, which has been explained above.

Step 2: NBE will conduct a Mock Allotment of Seats.

Step 3: Students shall modify their choices if they want to, in the Mock Allotment.

Step 4: NBE shall release the First List of Allotment.

Step 5: If the student is allotted a seat, the student pays the 1st year's course fee, else he/ she has to participate in the 2nd round.

Step 6: If the allotted student fails to pay the 1st year's course fee, then his candidature shall be cancelled, and he/she won't be allowed to participate in the next round. If the allotted student pays the fees, then he/she shall report to the institute or participate in the next round for upgrading their choices.
