Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Civil Engineering is a 3-year Doctoral program offered by the CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT). The program is divided into three parts, namely, Part I - Coursework, Part II - Comprehensive Viva Voice, Part III - Synopsis Submission, Thesis Submission, and Defense. The students are required to undertake a course on Research Methodology prescribed by the University, which includes quantitative methods and computer applications. Areas of study include Ground Improvement, Alternate Pavement Materials, Concrete Technology, Construction Materials, Construction Management Geology, Hydro-geology, Digital Mapping, and Urban Studies.

The candidate must hold a Master’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology from CMR University or any other institutes recognized by the University with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Master’s Degree.
