Jain University, formerly called Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College (SBMJC), was established in 1990. Jain University ranks among the top universities in India and is considered to be one of the top destinations for students across the world. Jain University is located in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was established under the aegis of the JGI Group. In 2009, it was granted Deemed-to-be-University status.
Jain University was accredited ‘A’ grade by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) in the year 2017. It ranks 7th among the best Private Universities in Bangalore by India Today. The university is regarded as a hub for learning in every sense of the word for its glorious history of developing multiple talents. It is known for its excellence in the field of academics and ensures 100% placement facilities.

Jain University conducts the Jain Entrance Test (JET). JET is a National Level entrance exam that is administered to grant Jain University admission to various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.
Jain University decides the eligibility criteria for the JET entrance exam. The guidelines formulated by the university is dependent on the different courses offered by the university. The primary eligibility criteria for JET are to get at least 50% in either 12th standard or any Undergraduate Course, depending on the course chosen by the candidates.
Jain (Deemed-to-be University) Hostels has been regarded as a home away from home. The university offers both on-campus (JGI Global Campus) and off-campus accommodations (in multiple locations in Bangalore) for the admitted students.
The resident arrangements are allowed for both boys and girls separately. The accommodations offered by Jain University are managed by the Hostel Management Division of the university.
The facilities provided by the university are guided strictly by keeping in mind the sense of comfort and quality of life for the students away from home.
1. Residential Suites contain bedrooms with attached bathrooms and well-ventilated spacious rooms with adequate facilities.
2. The residential suites are well furnished to ensure the need of the students. Each accommodation facility comes with a cot, bed, cupboard for storage, tables, and chairs.
3. Each residence has a well-equipped and designated housekeeping staff, ensuring a clean residence.
4. The accommodation offered by the university is known for providing delicious and healthy food with a variety of dishes. The dining package includes breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner.
5. The university residence is equipped with 24/ 7 well trained and equipped security service along with security cameras to keep an eye on the student’s safety.

Jain University has participated at the National, State, and International levels in multiple sports categories that include Swimming, Cricket, Golf, Tennis, Badminton, Basketball, Hockey, Athletics, and Rifle.

Candidates applying for Commerce programs at Jain University are required to be qualified in 12th Std or 10+2 examination in Science or Commerce from Pre-University (PUC), CBSE, or ICSE or other equivalent board and the program that is recognized by any university or boards.
Candidates are required to pass 10+2/ National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) board with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Arts, Science, Commerce, or any other equivalent streams. 1. Candidates aspiring to admit themselves to UG/ PG/ Ph.D programs under any curriculum or course must register themselves through the online admission portal of Jain University.
2. The applicants must fill the application form with the required documents along with the application form to get themselves registered.
3. The applicants are also advised to keep a photocopy of the printed application for any reference in the future.
4. Admissions for the candidates for all the programs except Ph.D and M.Phil are selected based on the performance in the Jain Entrance Test (JET).
5. M.Phil and Ph.D aspirants seeking Jain University admission at the university are required to have a valid score in CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ JRF.
6. After clearing the written exam, the candidates must have a group discussion and personal interview round.
7. To enrol in any UG or PG programs at Jain University, the student must appear and clear the JET exam.
Note: If the application submitted by the candidate is incomplete or incorrect, Jain University has the right to reject it.

1. Scholarships are offered to Indian Nationals only.
2. Scholarships will be reviewed by the Jain University Scholarship Committee (JUSC).
3. The committee has every right to introduce new scholarships or to cease the scholarships at any time.
4. The scholarships awarded by the institute are to be awarded annually as approved by JUSC. The committee also has the sole right to approve the selection and the renewal process.
5. The Scholarships awarded by Jain University will be based on merit and by any means will not be tested or be influenced by any other award or grant.
6. Scholarships provided by the university are not transferable.
