Christ (Deemed-to-be University), formerly called Christ University (CU), was established as Christ College in 1969. The institute was born out of the educational vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara (educationist and social reformer).
Christ Deemed-to-be-University made its humble beginning as Christ College with 4-programs, 379 candidates, 28 teachings, and non-teaching staff. Christ University began offering multiple postgraduate programs starting from 1990. The University undertook diverse initiatives to promote higher education in India.
It adopts worldly higher education practices with the assistance of dedicated and creative staff. With the introduction of innovative and latest curriculum, Christ imposes academic discipline and holistic education.
Founded in 1969, the UGC conferred Autonomy to Christ College in 2004 and identified CU as an institute with potential for excellence in 2006. Admission to the hostel is for one year only. The re-admission to the hostel is based on performance, discipline, and active participation in academics, sports, and other activities.

Christ Deemed-to-be-University Bangalore conducts the Christ University Entrance Test (CUET). CUET is a National Level Entrance examination conducted to offer admissions to multiple UG and PG programs. The university conducts the entrance examination for admission in B.Tech, BBA, BA LLB, LLM, B.Com, BA CEP, BHM, and many other programs. The CUET exam is likely to be conducted by the university between April and May.
The applying candidates must have passed 10+2/ 12 std or equivalent course (Karnataka PUC/ ISC/ CBSE/ NIOS/ IGCSE/ IB) in any stream from any recognized board in India or abroad.
The aspiring candidates seeking admission to the programs offered by Christ University, Bangalore can apply through offline and online mode. The selection process for Christ University admission consists of passing CUET, Skill Assessment Test, Micro Presentation, and Personal Interview.
1. For most of the Christ University, Bangalore courses offered, CUET is conducted.
2. The admission for most of the programs offered by the institute is based on the merit scored in the qualifying examinations, CUET, skill assessment, and personal interview.

The Christ University’s scholarship office was set up to recognize students with an excellent meritorious record in Academics and Co-Curricular activities, utilizing awards and scholarships while pursuing a course at the university. The institute’s scholarship office will also support the deserving students who may have to opt-out of pursuing higher education due to economic reasons.

The University allocates a total amount of about Rs. 4,50,000 lakhs for the fee concessions and annual scholarships.
The Merit Scholarship has been initiated for meritorious students based on their academic performance at the pre-entry level and subsequent performance in multiple tests and examinations.
The candidates will be awarded a merit scholarship in September every year. The scholarship will be offered based on the merit of the pre-entry marks, mid-semester test, and attendance in regular classes.
The consecutive years’ scholarships will be awarded based on the candidate’s performance in one end semester and two mid-semester examinations each year.
Scholarships will consist of a percentage refund of Christ University fees. Every combination will be considered for 2 merit scholarships. The combinations with more than one section will be regarded as proportionately.
1. The applying candidates choosing to avail of the scholarship must apply to the office of awards and scholarships with the necessary supporting documents.
2. The economically weaker section, especially from the rural areas, is eligible to apply.
3. The candidates must have enough documents of eligibility enclosing a community/ official income certificate
4. The applications produced will be inspected, and a final interview with or without parents or guardians by the scholarship committee will be conducted. The committee will decide the eligibility for the scholarship

The Christ University Placement cell ensures to facilitate the students to explore the world of employment and new career opportunities. The cell assists the students in planning their careers by conducting career counselling. CU gathers information about the student’s interests, aptitude, and abilities to train and help them choose their careers more effectively.
The Christ University placements office’s main objective assures the students’ professional development by training them towards the employability skills that include creating an effective resume, group discussion, and interview skills that assist them in achieving the desired occupation or applying for the prestigious PG and professional institutes.
