The 3-year course deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to the supporting tissues of teeth. Students are introduced to Dental Implant Placement, LASER Assisted Surgeries & Microsurgery. They are involved in surgical procedures, periodontal flap surgeries and mucogingival surgeries. The students must have presented 15 seminars and 25 journal clubs at the end of the course. They should have presented two papers at the national level and two posters at a PG convention.

Candidates should have completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from any college or university recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI) or the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). They should have secured qualifying marks in NEET MDS.
